HYDROLOGICAL PLANNING OF THE GUAYADEQUE RAVINE

DESCRIPTION: The work is aimed at hydrological planning of the basin of the Guayadeque ravine, on the island of Gran Canaria (Spain), with an area of 3087 hectares, a length of 19 kilometers and a slope of 1700 meters. The work consisted in the elaboration of the following activities: evaluation of hydraulic resources (rainfall, surface resources, underground resources and hydrological balance of natural resources), inventory of existing hydraulic infrastructure (surface and subterranean explotation), evaluation study of demand and consumption (current consumption and future demands of water in the urban, tourist, industrial and agricultural sectors), hydraulic balance between the available resources and the demands foreseen in the future and formulation of proposals of actions for the improvement of the hydraulic utilization of the basin (construction of new dams, water transfers, etc …).
